 Qualification You Will Achieve

Level 1 City and Guilds Employability Skills Diploma

You will work towards a pass in GCSE Maths and English or a functional skills qualification.

 

Connect Aims To...

To gain skills and build on knowledge that is needed for further education or future employment 

You will gain a qualification that is recognised by employers and will also look good on your CV.

Costs:

  • You will Receive £10 a week for full attendance .

  • Your child benefit will continue and you may be eligible to receive a bursary to help you with lunch costs and bus fare, depending on your circumstances .

  • You will become a full time college student and you will be entitled to all the benefits of being a student, including an ID Card.

Entry Requirements:

  • You must be 16 to 18 years of age

  • You must not be taking part in any other full-time form of training or education

  • Qualifications are not required for entry to the programme

 

Learner Support:

  • Each student will have regular support/review meetings with a named member of staff

  • either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups

  • ​

Opportunities for Work Related Learning and Work

 If you have passed your GCSE's in Maths and English you will be offered a work placement. This is a great opportunity to gain work experience and build on skills that are needed for employment

Times:

  • Only 3 days a week.

  • 9:00am-3pm.

During your time on this course you will be able to:

  • Meet New People

  • Develop New Skills

  • Gain Confidence

  • Gain Qualifications

  • Have Fun!

This course will cover a

number of topics including:

  • Alcohol & Drug Awareness

  • Prepare For Work

  • Team Work Skills

  • Participating In Leisure Activities
